Years ago, in the middle of one of the hardest seasons we’d ever faced, a friend looked at our family and said, “You’re like an orange tree, planted right in the front yard. People walk by, take what they need, and leave nourished.” That image wrecked me—in the best way. (In fact, I planted an Orange Tree in our front yard that same week!)

At the time, we were living in an under-resourced community, doing everything we could to create safe spaces, connection, and hope. We didn’t have much, but we had intentional culture—one built on generosity, trust, and people-first values. And it changed everything.

Years later, I started to wonder:

What if healthy culture wasn’t the exception in organizations… but the standard?
